Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Baraga, Michigan, Gypsy Dude Coffee Co. is much more than your average coffee stop—it’s a vibrant local haven for coffee lovers who appreciate artisan craftsmanship and authentic flavor. Tucked into a shared space with a garage shop at 340 US-41, this unique coffee shop delivers an atmosphere that’s both welcoming and refreshingly unpretentious, making it a perfect pit stop whether you're starting your day or exploring the Upper Peninsula.

Gypsy Dude Coffee Co. is proudly owner-roasted, featuring a standout Bolivian blend that customers rave about for its vibrant and smooth profile. From the very first sip of their drip coffee, you’re greeted with a well-balanced, smooth brew that is anything but ordinary. For those seeking a refreshing chill, their cold drinks offer exquisite creativity: the Shaken Espresso brightens up your palate with U.P. maple syrup and cinnamon—an absolute symphony of sweet spice and rich espresso. The Orange Espresso, blending fresh orange juice and zest with cold foam, adds a citrusy twist that surprises and delights. Traditional espresso-based offerings like the creamy Cortado, rich Heavyweight, and indulgent Cubano (infused with cane sugar) showcase deep, complex flavors designed to please espresso aficionados and casual sippers alike.

One of the most compelling aspects of Gypsy Dude Coffee Co. is its lively yet laid-back vibe. Guests consistently praise the clean, inviting setup both inside and outside, with ample seating that encourages relaxation and conversation. The warm and friendly service shines brightly here, truly embodying the spirit of community hospitality. Whether it’s the attentive barista or owner Cristian’s proud artisan touch, every interaction feels genuine and personal—rare qualities that transform a simple coffee run into a memorable experience.

Reviews tell the story better than words alone. Travelers recount delighting in the bold flavor without acidity, describing cold brews that remain delicious even an hour later. Locals appreciate the inclusion of plant-based milks like oat and almond, as well as creative flavorings such as maple syrup, which captures the essence of the region. Many guests emphasize how this hidden gem stands out from the cookie-cutter franchise coffee chains with its authenticity, affordable pricing, and a menu that’s delightfully straightforward yet thoughtfully crafted.

Beyond the exceptional coffee, Gypsy Dude Coffee Co. even offers a line of exclusive merchandise for those wanting to carry a piece of this special place with them. With a spot that boasts a serene view of the lake nearby and a friendly, satisfying atmosphere, it’s no wonder customers leave feeling uplifted—ready to take on the day or simply savor a moment of calm.

Whether you’re a devoted coffee connoisseur or simply in search of a uniquely welcoming spot to fuel your travels through the Upper Peninsula, Gypsy Dude Coffee Co. promises a rich sensory experience rooted in community, craft, and true passion for coffee. Love This Place! While traveling through the town of Baraga in the U.P. I came across this little gem early in the morning. Super clean and fun setup inside and out, plenty of seating to drink your cup of goodness and they even have a line of Merch. The girl working was so pleasant and welcoming, she is what businesses need more of! Now the coffee- OMG, I can’t say enough about the flavor of the coffee, really good! Starbucks would have a run for their money if this turns into a franchise, really deep silky smooth flavor. I’m sad they are so far from where I live, but if I’m back anywhere near here I will definitely stop in and highly recommend you do as well!

:Gypsy Dude Coffee is a hidden gem! The Bolivian blend, roasted by the owner, is vibrant and delicious. They offer plant-based milks and have a great selection of beverages. Plus, the service is super friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

The prices are great and the coffee is delicious! We happen to be traveling through and always try to get the small shop locals business and get away from the franchise junk. Worth it!! 3 drinks under $20 atmosphere wad neat being attached to a garage shop.

We stopped here as a second attempt at coffee today as our first attempt was depressing. I'm so glad we ended up here! They have simple organic coffee offerings. Friendly staff. Convenient location for traveling. The shaken espresso was delicious!

I met the owner today, Cristian and as it says on his business card, he deserves the title of an artisan. I ordered an iced coffee - as dark as possible. There was no acidity, it was smooth and delicious, just perfect. Cristian said it would taste like a stout beer (yep it does) after an hour of being forgotten on my desk it's still tasty.

Hole in the wall place that shares a building with an auto repair shop. Awesome coffee. Barista was super nice and conversational. Definitely better than your big box places and surprisingly inexpensive by comparison. 16oz Cafe Mocha was $6.

Great quick little coffee stop. Open early enough to grab coffee on the way to work. They have maple syrup flavoring which is amazing! They have alternative milk options like oat and almond which made the wife very happy.

Fantastic service and coffee in a very uplifting atmosphere. I’m so glad Baraga County has a coffee shop where you can sit down and chill. The menu is very simple and straightforward which I love. There’s a great view of the lake from the seating area as well. I’ll definitely be back frequently! Also, awesome logo!!
